What do you prefer to read...... novel, short story or poem?

I like to read short stories,and poems,i dont have the paitience to read a long book.Mostly read stories off of the internet ,and read magazines.

I will read anything at all, well almost anything that is. LOL It is my favourite hobby in fact and I have very catholic tastes in my reading which is anything from murder, mystery, suspense, nature, history and travel to name just a few things. There are times when I read poetry, but I do have to be in the mood for it. Short stories are for when I am travelling because it is hard to lose track of the plot which can happen with a novel. :) The whole family are readers, so there are always books laying around the place. We all read ever day and in fact I cannot get to sleep at night unless I have read for at least 15 minutes, so ingrained is the habit of reading.

Im an avid book lover:) In high school , my friends call me a novel addict because i read romance novels in my free time. I read it as intently as studying for exams. I love books and novels more than i have read poems or short stories. But it doesnt mean i dont like any of it. Its just that i grew up with novels more. The llong narrative keeps me glued to it:)

i like novel the most, short stories are ok but they seem to end too fast, poem is good to but i am not really into it too much, novel is good because it take it to alot of place that real life cant and it is fun at time.

I love to read a short story rather than a poem or novel because I cannot understand poem first of all and novel are really longer to read

i love to read poem.. poems are made out of concentrated thoughts. i dont like novels, i dont have the patience to read a 200 page book.. but i do love watching movies based on novels..

I like novels better than short stories or poems. I like to have details when I read and when u read short stories or poems u don't get all of the detail b/c they're shorter.

I love books, I love reading. I prefer romance, poem. Usually I don't like too much novel or short story but it doesn't mean that there are some good novel and short stories. I read everything, so at the end also short stories.

My favorites are mystery novels. I will occasionally read a short story, but very seldom do I read poetry.

I read almost everything, i prefer history and mythology but also read politics travel and many other non-fiction topics, as for fiction I prefer novels and plays, then short stories and some poetry..

as you know I am a true book addicted...therefore I am always reading something...I have just started the last from Isabel Allende..she is one of my favourite author...I am sure I'lll ike this one,too but I'll tell you more next time..I like novels and I like poems,too...my favourite poets are Giacomo Leopardi, one of the greatest Italian poets, and Pablo Neruda...they are so different from each others but they can speak to different sides of my souls...on the other hand, i don't like short stories very much...don't know why but I can not feel comfortable with them...the only time I loved short stories was when reading those written by Hemingway..superb...and Snow on Kilimangiaro was fantastic!

Well I read more novels then anything else, but some of my favourite stories were short stories. I am not a fan of poetry really though. I can appreciate a well written poem, and I understand why some like reading and writing poetry, I am just not a fan.

I like reading too. But not necessarily books. Normally I will read Financial Magazine, Personal Money and Investment in Malaysian Market. Normally after working hours will be the right time for me to start reading, otherwise I will be sitting in front of my PC posting on myLot of course. Even though I only invest a bit in stock market but the information learnt is good for personal knowledge.

I usually read novels or short stories. I hardly touch any poems. Novels keep you engrossed. But lately, its only study books for me.

I am a book lover (not lover booker). I read novels and I always prefer short stories. I have leading short stories books by O'Henry, Guy Muppusant etc
