Tricorders, photon torpedos, phasers, reflectors, warp drives, wormholes, ET contact.
Will they become real in the near future or will we have to wait for a long long time?

i doubt about warp drives and faster-than-speed-of-light travel, and about the transporter thing...
i mean you get transported one atom at a time? what happens when in the middle of space a solar flare happened? or the power to the transporters got cut off when in the middle of being transported?

I don't think so, but i hope some day we could have the benefits of teleportation and i salso hope that the medical technologies would achieve some of performance presented in star trek. Some technologies which involve a force field would be usefull to exist....just think about of a protector shield against UV radiation and more other things...

I would hope teleportation would be the first technology to become real so that we don't need transportations.

I think it's quite possible we will have the technology. Already we have things that are similar to what they showed in Star Trek, especially the original show. Communicaters look a lot like Cell Phones, I wouldn't mind one that was push and say name and not have to dial, which would be more like the Next Generation. Some of the medical equipement we have all ready. So I think we are moving towards it. Maybe not as fast as some thought we would but we are. When we are ready we will have it all I'm sure.

Eventhough modern day science is growing
rapidly , the technology in star trek
does not appear to become real any time soon.
