I think the basic structure of the school system is outdated. I agree that a lot of energy is wasted on trying to teach children something they will never use. By the 8th grade, you can tell who is going to be a science geek and who is going to be a grease monkey. I think by the time you reach High School, you should only be required to learn things that interest you, because this is ultimately where your career will end up coming from.

I agree with you mostly, HighPreistess, but there should be a few mini-required courses so students can have their interests broadened to things they don't know about or are unsure of. I'm thinking just an hour or two a day covering multiple topics, but then the students get to go on to classes that they have chosen as their best interests. BUT something would need to be done to make sure they don't all join to be with their freinds.. I guess just do a test-like time for when they are picking the classes, any talking or communicating will get them sent to the counselor to take an aptitude test and be automatically put in classes it picks lol.
I also think grammar and spelling should be emhasized more in high school. Too many people have more trouble than they should with those two subjects.

education is very important... a person should be educated not to get criticized by other people.but some in our curriculum is not necessary maybe they should somehow change the curriculum which we can benefit and will help increase our skills...

I fully agree with you because I think if it has no practical application why we are all wasting our time, but I think it gives us some experience in our day to day life.

We have to study because we need education. We can learn many things and informations because of study. There are no benefit for you for now, but maybe in the next future it will have benefit for you. If someone ask you what happen in the past, you can teach them about what happen in the past. Also if you learn something like chemistry, you can know which one is poisonous and which want doesn't. SO everyone need to study to learn and to know about this world. What if you didn't study. You will feel that you are blind, you will feel that you don't know anything, feel stupid, so education is important.

We need to study to prepare ourselves in our future endeavors. We may not see the relevance as of now, but as we go along with life, some of our learnings serves as our tools in dealing with it.

i used to study in order to finish my course and have a certificate or diploma. I study because i wanted to make my parents happy. This is the only treasure that anybody cant get from me. I study because i want to have a good future soon.

Well.. its that ..
the history is required to make you aware what happened in the past and you should not repeat the same things... and also that you understand how some grt things were done...
CHemistry and Physics are taught so that you can understand this environment better and moreover have some level of scientific knowledge...

well.study is very important in life.i agree to this.today life is difficult n one cannot survive if he or she is not intelligent enough to cope up with the fast moving world.i think all subjects do some type of good to us.we find so many oppotunities with differnt subjects to move in life.we can choose different professions.maths is the most important according to me but the most hatred one.i cud never do it very well n today also i find it so difficult that i run away from it.hahaha.

It will all find a use in your future. You tend to find education useless as you draw closer to finishing your education. You will find that a knowledge of history makes you better informed on what is going on around you in the hear and now. Education is about trying to create a spark in the imagination of a young person which will push them in one direction or another.

there is a proverb says knowledge is power.
when i was at your age, i just felt the same things as you, some subjects are totally no use to me and they were just wasting my time.
but now after i graduate from school and start my working life, i find that soem of those subjects, that i thought were totally useless, are now very helpful to my work.
so dont give up any chance to learn, you'll find what you've learnt are really useful.

The things u have to study before entering adulthood is only going to increase whether u need it or not. Atleast one of ur classmates might have become a historian, archaeologist, doctor, pharmacist etc. They all need different parts of the pre-college studies. Our brains are programmed to forget what we dont need and remember only wat we need. So cheer up, after 3 to 4 years, when u enter college, u are bound to miss ur school life. Enjoy it now
