I read today that scientist are looking to see if an appetit-supprssing chewing gum could be used to fight obesity. The work being done at Imperial College in London involves using a natually occuring hormone that signals that "full-up" feeling.
Could this be used to help people lose weight? The gum itself would not promote weight lose but acts on the our sense of being full, so wouldn't some people ignore that feeling and continue eating , making themselves ill?

I was told once that chewing gum makes you hungry because in actual fact it is teasing the stomach, as you chew your stomach expects something to digest, I don't know if this is true but I know I do get hungry when I chew gum.
