Personally, I don't really have much interest in dogs. Not until I watched this movie which I think made me realize that dogs are really good friends. They're not just here to bark at us or run after us, they're here to be our friends, till the end. The movie, Eight Below, was truly a tearjerker. It was one of the best films I have ever watched.

i personally watched eight below because of paul walker. i am an avid fan of his since i've seen him in the fast and the furious. i am a dog lover myself. and when i watched the film, i really cried. the dog themselves survived by helping themselves. it's a great film. my boyfriend bought me the VCD of that movie. i recommend it to everyone i know.

I did love the movie, especially because it starred Siberian Huskies, but it's probably good to remember that not only are the dogs in that movie canine actors, but the real dogs that survived the 1958 expedition on which this was based are Karafuto-Ken dogs, a Japanese sled dog related to the Akita and Japanese Spitz. Whenever a movie is released with canine stars of an identifiable breed (101 Dalmatians, Iron Will, Snow Dogs, The Shaggy Dog, etc) the breed spikes in popularity with backyard breeders and puppy mills churning out dogs to meet the demand. Always do your research. The dogs you fell in love with onscreen can vary greatly from the dog you bring home for your own.

hi Cheerldr!! I too personally feel the same..My husband loves dogs, I was OK with them..I just used to play with the ones those are small, friendly and less barking dogs. My hubby and me constantly discuss whether we should keep dogs as pets or not, but after watching Eight below, I was moved to tears and just loved the film. I want to keep dogs now and certainly see if I can get to play with the Siberian huskies. Want to make a trip to Alaska, atleast to see the huskies over there!
