Smoke Ban with Children in Vehicles

Where is this a new law? Could it possibly be in your state? I haven't heard of it yet. But if NY passes such a law I would be glad-- Any law that would further protect our children from inhaling 2nd hand smoke would be worth it. Even if a person rolls down their window- smoke still comes into the car.. Think about that infant in the car seat in the back- But then again I feel that it is infringing on peoples individuals rights. I am not a smoker nor were my parents.. I have friends who smoke but not around me. I have terrible allergies.. Good question- I'm going to look into if a similar law was passed in NY.

I quit smoking 2 weeks ago and I also have a 9 month old daughter. Because I have her I NEVER smoked in the car, or in our house. I took my butt outside in -40 (I live in canada and trust me the winters here are bad), and I froze my butt off, but atleast I knew my child wasn't getting 2nd hand smoke. I feel that ALL smokers should be more responsible for others and NOT smoke in places where someone else can inhale the 2nd hand smoke.

I have mixed feelings about this. Yes smoking is bad for peoples health. I just wonder what they are going to tell people they can't do in or on their own property next. BBQ on your grill supposedly can cause cancer. Maybe they will ban it next. I think they should ban fast food. There are so many overweight kids today. Better ban the video games also so kids will go out and play hide and seek and things that they actually get excercise from.

We haven't gone that far yet on the east coast of Canada but we are not allowed to smoke in public buildings. But I think it should be. Smokers try to be good but they just don't understand what they are doing to others. They obviously don't care enough about themselves but you would think they would learn that it just isn't a good thing.

Somking is banned in cars with minors travelleing as passengers thats a very good idea. In india smoking is banned while driving. Smoking in banned in public places. Yes i do agree smoking in houses with children isn't a good idea. More over kids will be affected with that a lot. Kids may get used to smoking and develop that habbit later on or they just develop that kind of hatred towards parents which they never can express.
