its not such a big loss for european football & real madrid.beckham's not one of the best in footballing world today.he has become more or less like an average footballer.instead of playing for a low profile club in europe for less money ,he made a good decision to play for L.A. galaxy for a whopping $250million for 5 yrs.thats a lot of money.as you know,he is no more england's captain, infact not in the team. And with steve mclaren as coach ,the doors are shut forever for beckham. so it doesnt make a difference where he plays.he is a definite crowdpuller.he will surely popularise soccer in US.ofcourse posh is gonna be of great help there.who knows ,he might even act in a hollywood flick.....

I don't think athletes really think about, "My career is ending soon, what can I do to get ready for retirement?" I think they realize that they can't play forever, but don't want to believe it is approaching an end. Generally, they realize it's time to retire after it's time to retire. Look at Brett Farve in the NFL. He played this year and will most likely not return next year. He should have called it quites after last year.
I'm a NASCAR fan. Most racers want to feel that they are competitive. Many times, it isn't until they start running toward the back of the pack for a few seasons until they realize they aren't competitive and should retire.
I'd like to think Becks believes he can jumpstart soccer here in America. I'd like to think he sees some sort of potential here and that's why he's doing it. The problem is that $250 million makes that a little hard to believe. I think it's just a lot of money.

Yes is a loss for Real and European Soccer but Beckham have take this decision because he has last years to play as professionist, so money is the priority for him in this moment sincerely I prefered to play in a big team but the problem is also that in a big team as real also a champion is not sure to play always so as Figo that play in Inter team
has decided to Emirates Arabes to play not every people like this decisions but I respect their choices..

Yes, I would say for sure that money seems to be the priority for him, but him playing in America will definetely boost the sport of Soccer. I have heard that it is only more popular at the children's level, not at the professional level. Having someone like Beckham play for Los Angelas will be a great influence.

Money can force a human to do any thing. Why U.K. is allowing him to do so?

He's going to make $50 million US per year. These games draw about 10,000-15,000 people and limited TV coverage. I'm not sure how they expect to make their money back. It's a loss. I'm guess I'm glad that he's coming here to play and maybe it will increase interest, but I think they could have found cheaper ways to do it.
