What would happen if we legalized drugs in the US?

Would more people use drugs or would we just then realize how many were using in the first place? Would the end of the war on drugs allow us more money to help those addicted to hard drugs with more rehabilitation centers? Would the government be able to stop building jails since 80% of the prisoners are there for drug offenses? Tell me what you think.
