catfish sting

peolpe say that they hav got stuck by a catfish and there whole hand swelled up is that a fact or fiction?

i got stung once. i caught some little baby catfish, no more than 1" long, and got stung by one. it hurt like hell for at least 4 hours. as to the swelling. i experienced none. some people, however, could possibly have a reaction to the poison in a catfish sting

some people might have had a reaction to the poison of a catfish sting. i remember one time i caught some babycatfish (by baby i mean 1" or less) and one of them stung me, i didn't swell up, but it hurt like hell for about 4 hours.
