I literally live by the convenience of the crockpot. I have several crockpot cookbooks, but I am always looking for another unique crockpot recipe. I find that most of my recipes for it are comfort food, and that's okay, but I'd also like some healthy crockpot meals. What's your favorite tried-and-true crockpot recipe so I can add it to my collection?

I love crockpots! They are so simple and easy to use. The best BBQ sandwiches come from a pot roast in a crockpot. To the bowl add a pot roast, a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce, and a drop or two of liquid smoke. Set for high or low, 3 hours for high and 6 hours for low. I sometimes add onion or garlic powder, chili powder, or hot sauce, so spice it up how you like it. The meat will just be falling apart when the time is up. Use tongs or two forks to shred and serve on hamburger buns. Add a salad or some frozen veggies and instant meal. Great for dinner after a sporting event or school function as well, it's ready to go when you are. That's the best part about crockpots :)

I love using my crock pot as well. I find it's very convenient for me to use since I usually have a lot to do during the day. So being able to put everything on high heat for several hrs. & go & do whatever I have to around the house.. Helps out a great deal! Plus I love using my crock pot because all the flavors are able to mix together after a few hrs. have passed. Which makes the meal to even tastier! I included a recipe that I found & use to make roast stew all of the time. Feel free to try it if you'd like.. ENJOY! "Roast Stew." Ingredients are as follows: - 1 package of baby carrots - 3 lb. of boneless top round roast - 1 large onion - 5 medium potatoes - 8 cups of beef broth - 1 large can of cream of mushroom soup - 1 tbsp of salt - 1 tbsp of pepper - 1 tbsp of garlic powder - 3 bay leaves Directions to make it are: - Mix together the cream of mushroom soup, & the beef broth. Pour in crock pot. Then add salt, pepper, garlic powder & bay leaves & mix well. - Chop the onion & cube washed potatoes (leave the skin on the potatoes though.) Then place the roast in the liquid & add the carrots, the chopped onion, & cubed potatoes. - Cook on low for 6 to 8 hrs. or you can cook on high for 4 - 6 hrs. Using the two forks, shred the warm roast beef & then add to the stew. Number of servings you get are: 10! It's a very yummy dish & I find it to be rather healthy with all of the vegetables that are within this stew. If anyone makes this I hope they enjoy it as much as I do making it for me & my other half on a cold winter day! ENJOY! xx
