I do not know How many of you have seen an Indian movie. Have you ever noticed the tears and dance in it? We need to carry a napkin to the theatre! Why is it so?

I couldn't help but laugh when you stated that people have to carry napkins to the theatre. LOL And the napkins would not to wipe your hands of the popcorn butter. ha ha
I can't say that I know what is in Indian theathre, but our movies vary here in the states too.
We seem to have theathres filled with more blood and gore movies that picking a movie is very slim for me. I don't want to see something violent or scarey to the point of nightmares when I sleep. If you have movies that are mostly song, dance, and tears...I wouldn't have nightmares with that. Feel grateful that you have more to choose from. :)

That is the other side of the story what I hear. Of corse I may also prefer a dance or a bit melodrama to the violence. Not that we are lagging behind it. But the avaerage Indian is higly emotional and that assures the money back to the producer.
Thanks a lot for the response.

Well, your observations regarding indian movies are totaly
wrong. Try to understand what is a cenima and in cinemas what the artist have to do.They have to show you the "navrash" the
nine different moods as per the requirement of that cinema.
Atleast in indian movies you have stories, actual daily happenings in the soceity, love, dance fighting and so on.You have variety of subject and choose any one and spenttime. There
are no tears as you have said in action films or in films aimed for college students. There are different segment of people for whom defferent types of movies. Please select the correct movie and watch them.Don't simply remark the Indian
movies are that type and this type!!!!!

I understand your view point. But you may agree that Hindi movies cover the maximum people. and there you find what I said. I am not referring to kethan mehta,Adoor gopalakrishnan, Manirathnam, benegal , Ray or somebody of that stuff. I am amember of the best of the film and stage societty of India 'The soorya' and I have watched right from kurosova there. I refereed the average Indian Movie. any way thanks for your kind response.

It's a wrong notion you got. Most of the Indian movies are not about tear and dance. There's a wide variety of Indian movies. You can say that most of Hindi movies have dances but movies are made in 20 different languages in India. Thus overall 50% have no songs and dances and stories are way different then you would imagine.
But in Hindi if you go to watch a family drama or a Shah Rukh Khan movie, yeah you gotta cry.
You want to watch real movie, watch Hrithik's movies.
