How picky are you when choosing your myLot friends?

As I've become more active on myLot, I've gotten a lot of seemingly random friend requests. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but some people I honestly can't find one thing we have in common based on interests and discussions. I wanted to know if other people use any discretion when selecting their friends. I don't know if some people are just requesting to be friends with everyone, but I'd like my friends list to mean something.

If I get a friend request I look to see their profile.. This is when I check out what they have written. WOuld I answer any discussions they started, are any of their interest like mine? Or if they answered one of my questions I am more apt to add them. I am new though so I really have been doing the asking.. I type in a search word then ask that person to be my friend.
