Who are the trend setters?

Everyday we see people walking down the street. While observing their clothing, we can draw 2 conclusions: either they copy or they don't. It's very easy with the copycats : they see what others wear and are appreciated for, and then buy the same clothes or make the same combination of clothes. Those that don't copy can be splitted in 2 categories: Those who try to set a trend, but are awful/bad at it and the TREND SETTERS. Do you think that you have to be a designer or a mastermind in fashion to become a trendsetter?
