Pirated Vs Original ! share your views

few days ago , my father told me to buy the software cd from market ! i asked vendor he told me it will cost 10,000 rs ! and then my friend told me to use pirated which will cost around 100 rs ! so i buyed it and given to my father and told him that i buyed it in 100 rs ! he was happy but had i done wrong ! what you say !!

It is always better to buy the original ones over come counterfeit copy of software, music or video. Unfortunately, originals are so expensive that people prefer the pirated ones. That's bad for the industry.

we cant go for original softwares because if we will buy all the softwares we use in original then it will cast even more than the cost of our computer.so in our country its better to go for pirated because we really cant afford it..

i dont think buying pirated is wrong...if we buy only original then just think friend how many people own os??

go with the original software if you can afford it, because it is the legal/right, ethical thing to do. It is also safer and reliable becuase most of the pirated once are bundled with spywares and viruses. When you buy pirated software you are stealing the company's rights.

I agree, you should always buy the original over the pirated. it is the difference between buying name brand and off brand at the store kind of. Name brand is really good, and no complaints at all and usually come with a gaurantee, while off brands are not as good quality, usually has qurks you have to work out, and doesn't come with any kind of garuntee. Just becareful and rememeber, what you pay for is what you get. It is not alway the best to go with the cheapest, it may end up costing you more in the future!!!

This is not the matter of right or wrong. Since the companies which make these softwares spend millions and millions of dollars for its research and development and employs thousands of people for making that software directly and even more thousands of people indirectly. They spend many sleepless nights and days to make that software work for you and bring it to you for your use. Hence the cost of it should be made in such a way that they will get some profit from it after deducting the amount they invested for it by way of resources, salaries, etc. And here comes a guy/guys who uses very limited resources to copy those softwares using his own codes and tricks. Even if you use these pirated softwares you are not sure whether it will create any damages or so, which it will. So, you decide which one to go for even if it is slightly costlier.

well yeah respect all things ! but when it comes about our hard earned money ! money and ease of availability then mind changes ! nobody thinks for others in this world

According to me; for any personal use, we can prefer pirated one. Peronal use in a sense, we are not going to make money out of it. but if someone uses it for commercial purpose, its wrong. He is make money out of the s/w that he has almost stolen. S/w companies invest such large capital and thousands of workers work so hard for months to make such large s/ws, getting them for cheap rates is like insulting those s/w engi who are the mastermind of s/w

It's not to use a pirated software if you're not using it commercially because many of us do. The problem in a pirated softare could be it's improper functionality because it may be missing some files. Till the time the original softwares are expensive, users would naturally like to purchase pirated softwares because the product is same and price is a big difference.

yes u are right but in indian market very few care to buy a original cd of any software...as piracy is very eminent here if one person buys a software 20 will copy it and store a copied cd with them......but now these things are changing as costs are coming down and people are becoming more aware of evils of piracy

i prefer pirated although its a loss to the company but our purpose is solved with almost involving no cost

Its our own thought what would we prefer. The original ones are way to costlier than the pirated one.
But if to buy original softwares is in your reach then go ahead otherwise stay with the pirated ones. But be aware of spywares, trojans and other nasty viruses in it.
As you told your father the correct price of the CD whether it is pirated or not its right.
If its affordable by you or anyone to buy the original ones, then you must do. Because to make a software needs lots of skills and time to go through it. We must help the software developers to encourage them on their work.
