I purchased a porcelin doll at a goodwill store and was wanting to find information on the doll and maybe the age. I am new at this and don't know how to determine if it's old. She is 28 inches and has an old looking dress on, she has long curly hair and her torso is porcelin (not just her head) and it is held on by strings. She has a firm body, and what looks like a stuffed bra underneath. Help

Without there being a presence of a brand or hallmark, the job is a little more complicated. Was there nothing imprinted on the doll anywhere? Have you looked at the bottom of her feet and on the nape of her neck (underneath her hair)? If there is still nothing, I am afraid I can't really be of much help. There are many resources on the net that will have pictures for you to compare. When doing your search, also keep in mind the style of her face, her style of eyes (closed, open, or 'sleep eyes'). What color is her hair/is it natural or synthetic (which will also be an indicator of her age)? The color in which her face is painted is also important and will tell you about the artist. Have you tried ebay? Maybe go to rubylane.com - they have quite a few antique dolls there (I found one of mine on there after a long search)...they have photos which will help you out. I wish you the best of luck, and if you find any markings, repost and I'll do what I can to help! Take care.

I would suggest Ebay too. It's not the most accurate information but you'll get an idea of what other people think it's worth.
