Never. Why? If one person just decides he/she cannot take care of the pet, it doesn't mean the end of road of the animal. There are options available also.

I think the owner should try to find a better home for the animal, I think it is terrible to put an animal to sleep just because you decide you don't want it.

I think that is so wrong. Why not give the animal away to someone who wants to love and take care of it..

I think it is a very cruel practice that should never be done to any animal

The puppy/dog should be given the same rights as a baby who's parents do not want it. Take it to a no kill shelter and let someone adopt it. I think it is very sad, when a dog is put down for such a small reason.

no way. it is one of the most horrible thing to do.a person wshould buy a pet only if 100% sure that they will be able to take care of it, otherwise a person should not buy pets at all.and as all have said if still the owner finds it difficult to look after the pet they should find a suitable home for the pet rather than putting it to sleep.

It is extremely sad and wrong. The animal world is way over populated because pet owners are not being responsible and getting their pets fixed, so they are sometimes being put down simply because there isn't the room or demand for them.

Absolutely not. If the owner no longer wants the pet, then he/she should find a suitable home for it. In most cities, there are rescue groups who will take a pet and find a good home for it.
