Why do terrorists always hijack airplanes?

well planes go faster and can get higher so its easier to pull stuff off like 9/11 but say like a care well you cant go as fast and you can only hit low stuff so i tihknk they get airplanes because they can do more damage i think

They are scared they may get caught and butchered if they hijack vehicles move on land.

They always hijack planes? The first time I heard of it happening was 9/11...maybe back in the day they did it more often
