Does you old computer have any usb ports? if so get a flash drive, they are cheap and easy to use. Otherwise there are ways to hook the computes up directly and send the files.

That was going to be my suggestion too. Since most computers (even the older ones) have USB ports, it is the best way to transfer data. USB flash drives have gotten so inexpensive that it's good just to have one anyway.

You can use a United Serial Bus with a 1 or 4 gigabytes to transfer your files from your old computer to your new ones. If you have no USB, you can take the hard disk of your old computer and have a friend who have a knowledge of computer to attach it to another computer using the serial or parallel connection of your hard disk. He can copy it to his computer CD writer. Or he can attach your old hard drives to your new computer if your computer have another vacant slot and will allow another hard disk to attach on it. Then, you can retrieve the information directly in your computer. After, transferring your files. You can choose to retain your hard disk as your to serve as another back up hard disk. But, if you do not like and your computer rejects it, then using USB is your last alternative.
