Hi, i've watched again this film. I love it. I think it is the best film of ever! Do you like it? What i want to ask is: The song "stand by me" was created for this film? or this song already exsist before the film?

Yeah the song is much older than the film. Ben E. King released it way back in 1961 and took it up to #4 in the charts before it peaked. It was a great song in my opinion, and when the movie came along, it just made sense to use it on the soundtrack. I hope that this was helpful for you :)

The song existed before the film. The movie's name comes from the song, actually. The short story it's based on was called 'The Body', but it was changed for the film version. And I can understand what, 'The Body' doesn't exactly sound like a heart warming, coming of age tale. Stand By Me worked much better for the movie.
