I love my optical mouse and would not want to go back to one with a ball. You don't have the problems with cleaning them like you do with the ball ones. I think the optical one last longer, at least mine has compared to the ball ones. Now I did not like the wireless mouse, that one I had problems with but the optical has been great. Would recommend it to everyone.

I have bought more than 4 mice for my laptop. I always choose optical. They are better and can be used on any surface.

According to my knowledge, try to use optical one why you go for old one and also you have a laptap' not moderately if you use the roller ball mouse' so go and take the optical mouse and it will last long'

I was constantly having to clean my roller mouse, but apart from the usual dusting when I dust my computer, I haven't had to clean my optical mouse since I bought it a couple of years ago. It is very easy to use and never hesitates.

i think optical mouse are better than roller mouse as because roller mouse are more prone to dust and thus it stops working properly after some time ..and optical mouse have longer life ..mine is 3 years old and still working..its more fast
..so please buy optical mouse..

I think you should go for the optical mouse. I have used both kinds and after some time, the roller ball mouse is a pain to use. My optical mouse works on almost any surface.

The optical mouse will definately last longer. Dirt gets accumulated and stuck at the rollers in a roller mouse and one has to clean it regularly leat its performance is jerky. Optical mouse has its advantages. Go for it.
