Why do people post irrelevant replies to topics?

What I'd like to add to that is, that many people don't even bother to go through the entire discussion or the few lines by the person who has started the discussion! Thus they end up contributing meaninglessly. I'd give you an example. One of the discussions I started was titled: "What difference do colors make." The discussion demands that you actually imagine the situation at hand and then respond. What one chap did was, paste an entire story that he had written some time back without even going through the questions asked in the discussion at hand, though I'd appreciate the creativity involved in the story! A great number of replies is always an encouragement to start new discussions but is it worth it when most of them are just not relevant?

well you see, this site pays you to answer. im surprised that the spamming is this low. but not having any would be amazing, mind boggling. the replies you speak of are just replies for the sake of it. they don't really care what the discussion is about, they just need to make a non commital one liner and make a basic amount of money from it and continue. they don't even look back. spam spam spam. and spam. that's how it goes, and to an extent it works i guess. at least that's what i think.

I posted the exact same topic a few months ago and I must say congratulations! You have received more responses...and all are more relevant than the replies that I received! People seem to think that adding extra words that make no sense or have no point (you know, like, "have a great day and wish you all the wealth in the world" b.s.) will earn them more money and they are correct. Sometimes. If someone makes a post that goes on and on with nothing really to say and someone gives them a plus, they will earn more money than the person who posted a REAL reply with only a few words. If the smart ones see people doing this and report it then the person might be stopped and all will be well. Another reason...the person replying doesn't know what the heck you (or even themselves) are talking about and just wants to butt in to the conversation. This might be because when they reply they kind of get bumped up and have a better chance of other people seeing their topics. Or once again they are hoping that you will give them a plus when they don't deserve it. I personally think it is a little bit of all of it. I think that in every good conversation going on here, there is at least one poster making a stupid comment.

I know what you are feeling. If you see my posts on this subject, you will see that I am so sick of it too. Rediculous posts and stupid useless replies. MyLot is trying to clamp down on it. We need to work as a team and keep turning them in. Be sure to use your rates to do this. Take a deep breath, and go find a more worthy person to respond back to. Have a great evening.

I know I love the ones that come in and say "I have no opinion" then why bother posting? The ones with I don't know are just as bad. You know they are just trying to post to as many places as they can without any effort. It's aggravating. I will rate them with a negative or even report them if it is totally irrelevant to the topic at hand. I read a lot more topics then I post to because I like to make a contribution, some I guess just don't care.

Well, I have seen it here happen all of the time, and a lot of the time, it is the same people posting the same thing to all of the posts just trying to make a few extra dollars, and not taking time to care about if it fits the topic started or not. I just feel we either need to Report them when we see this, or mark them with a "-" and move on.

People post sensless respones or discussion because it's easier than writing something complicated ! They don't want to use their brain ! I don't know what they fear !? Damagin their brian perhaps lol ? Not only posting sensless stuff will make you earn less but you will also become stupid ! If you spend a lot of hours on mylot try at least to contribute in this comunity in an intelligent way ! Everybody will benefit from it ! Writing would be more interesting and i doubt you will get bored !

Sometimes the best thing to do to people who post meaningless stuff is to give them a minus, it is alot to do, even though it seems like mylot doesnt care,

It's because they get money for replying... They don't care that it doesn't contribute. They just care about lining their pockets with money. I find it funny that this is even being asked, because I feel it's very obvious.

Feel fortunate as most of my discussions only bring in about 5 responses.

maybe they do not read the whole post, they just read the title and keep on replying. some maybe lazy typing and other's maybe, just have poor english grammar.

other people only want to post replies even its not related just to increase thier earnings, they don't care about the questions other people wanted to know the answer to

I think there are a lot of reason why. Maybe they just read few lines of the discussion thread start. They don't read full text so they didn't had what the topic starter want to tell about the discussion. Another reason is people who want to earn some quick cash. In other forums, this is called 'junking', which means making any posts irrelevant to the topic or just one-line text with no useful words and descriptions... In this case,I hope myLot would do a thing to prevent those cases.
