well according to me the best opening pair ever has to be greenidge and haynes . primarily becuase they exceled in both forms of the game , test and odi s . ganguly and sachin will come a close second inspite of their towering performances because they were never tested in test cricket .moreover haynes and greenidge laid the foundation of some of the historic matches that wi won and olso they have more century partnerships than any other combination .

well the best opening pair in the oneday cricket is sachin and saurav.....the advantage of this pair is that both are aggressive and stroke players...in limited overs cricket it is always good to have a left and right hand combination... this pair satisfies this also...they scored world record in opening wicket stand... sachin plays agressive shots at begining and ganguly smashes spinners in the slog overs...so this opening pair is the best i have seen in international cricket

I will put up for Tendulkar and Ganguly . They are the best opening combination india has ever had they have the experience and the technique . more over it becomes a left right combination which is much difficult to mandle by the bowler and the fielders . When it comes to test cricket Sehwag and Jaffer will put up a good opening combination one is aggresive and the other defencieve they can match to any situation . We are looking for more youngsters to come up and prove their talents .

i think it is adamgilchrist and mathew hayden.They smash the balls as rockets.During powerplays the ball can be seen outside the boundary line.Both have good striking rate

According to me, we should try all the possibilities. In the chennai match, Robin uthapa played a class innings. So we should try all the youngsters before the World Cup. Sachin and Ganguly is the best pair, I agree. But recently both the players are not playing well and they are under tremendous pressure. We should give chance to youngsters and bring the best of them. In my opinion, bring the alternatives in action before the world cup. All the youngsters are capable to play to good innings like Robin Uthappa. My choice is Robin Uthappa and sachin/ganguly.

yes tendulkar and ganguly makes a good pair, their records speaks for themselves.. they are very good indivitual players and making a good pair too for winning many matches for india.. and even hyden and gilgrist also a best pair for australia.. at last all the countries having their best opening pair now a days.

TRUELY buddy, if this has to go down in the histoy of the game for on-dayers then it has got to be "SACHIN nd SAURAV" in BEST-openers, world has ever seen in d same format of the game and for many reasons, some of which i can think of currently are: - 1). they have got maximum runs in the same. 2). they have maximum opening centuries record 2 their quota. 3). they have highest runs partnership...also... 4). they have class and most exciting to watch, together... 5). they both are BIG-MATCH winners on their any-given day... 6). they form a left-right combination also, which is considered - the most difficult for fielding side... 7). they both compliment each-other in best possible ways, like one example could be - when does one has to accelerate and when the other has to be keep patience... 8). they both are the Biggest Threats for the oppositions and thats Respectively in order... 9). and last but not the least, SACHIN is what the WORLD knows, the MASTER-BLASTER and best ever One Day player and Saurav is the only one player who has dared too come close to him, the maximum one could and record says it - till this stupid and unneeded break which was more of politics, he had the 2nd highest runs and 2nd highest centuries also... 2gether they r THE BEST nd 2gether dey wil b - like dey say - Together they can and together they will - Make the India Shine...!!!
