The one that got away

Even though I'm in a committed relationship now, every now and then I still think about the one that got away. It never would have worked out between us and I hate what she's become these days but it still creeps into my thoughts and occasionally into my dreams. Maybe it's because she's the only girl who ever dumped me, who knows. I really don't think it means anything but that doesn't make it eat at me any less. Is anyone else out there still haunted by the so-called "one that got away?"

Well first of all I'm a girl, based on my experience guys are really like that, they sometimes do not forget persons or girls who made an impression to them. I mean like slapping them, dumping them or cheating on them. I guess girls could feel the same way too, I never forget those who have done me wrong but I do forgive them in the long run.

I still talk to the one that got away for me. It's really hard sometimes. I know that I truly love the man I am with now but I do think about my ex often. About a year ago my ex even called and said that he still thought about me often and he still wanted to marry me. IT flipped my world upside down. The next time we talked I told him how I felt and everything he put me through and it turned out he didn't feel the same way anymore and actually just said the whole still wanting to marry me thing without really thinking about it.

well its just a state of mind i guess. You just have to forget it and move on. Like you said she dumped you so i think its an ego thing that keeps you think of her. She hurt your pride. You might just accept that and move on. You have your present relationship that you must take care of than thinking of that past that doesnt matter anymore.
