i'd still go for Big because big has a certain way of sweeping carrie off her feet. whenever she's with big, carrie feels so beautiful and outgoing, she's herself and is very comfortable. i think that they are a perfect match because they get to enjoy one another and that they are very compatible.

I think that's a great assessment of Big and Carrie's relationship... but I still like Aiden better!

If by "the best," you mean almost perfect for her, to meet all of her needs, then Aidan pretty much is it. Except why did she feel the need to hold on to her ties with Big after she had started seeing Aidan? Maybe it's just one of those things they did to make the plot exciting? But I find Aidan very boring, and Big very exciting so if you mean best as in not necessarily perfect or ready to share her lifetime with, then Big would be it. He wasn't ready for Carrie's need for permanence but he apparently was everything else for her, and maybe he just needed time to grow into the person he could be for her. Now I have no idea how the series actually ended, so I don't really know what happens to either of these men in the very end although I do know that Aidan found someone else and had a baby. But as for Big, I don't have a clue...and that Petrovsky guy was the absolute worst, I don't know why Carrie went to Paris with him except that Paris was the "it" place...but she shouldn't have kidded herself that she really wanted to be with Petrovsky! When Big came to her rescue then, you could see that he was good for her. And he did show that he cared by talking to her friends before barging in. So he does have his redeeming qualities.

Aiden and Carrie were good together, but I don't think that they would have made it in the long run. She always had Big on her mind and in the end, she ended up with Big anyways. I liked him the best because they had such an interesting relationship. They were always there for each other.

I thought Aiden was a great guy... so sweet, so cute, and he had a dog! I loved them together - but in the end, it just didn't work out.

Big! He is nice and makes her happy. And even if sometimes she suffered it was because she was expecting some things from him and maybe he didn't know this. Aidan looks very good, to.

I personally find Aidan the best (good looking, smart, cute, manly), but for Carrie, the best would be Big. I remember those scents that she was accompanying Aidan to his country house and she really didn't enjoy it. There was something not really a good match between Carrie and Aiden in the plot. And Carrie is just so much more "in love" with Big (taking into account of all those ups and downs).

i really like the overall personality of Aiden (John Corbett).. He has this character of being responsible, he did not take for granted Carrie (unlike Mr Big?!)... but since Carrie is not yet ready on a so-called commitment (marriage)maybe Carrie and Mr Big are compatible.

Aiden was definitely more "relationship material" than Big. But, Aiden was 2 nice 4 Carrie. Carrie always complained that Big was commitment phobic, and he would never claim her as his girlfriend, etc., yet everytime things didn't pan out with a new guy, she'd go running back into Big's arms. She also whined about Big 2 the other woman constantly, yet when they would question her as 2 why she was back with Big, Carrie never wanted 2 hear the truth, and always wanted them 2 change the subject, yet she expected them 2 always be an available "ear" 4 her Big obsession. The truth is that Carrie is just like Big: commitment phobic, selfish, an adulterer, and unavailable emotionally. This is why she was so bored with Aiden. Aiden was just a nice guy, who was committed, who was always there 4 her, and was always willing 2 listen 2 her, no matter what. Aiden didn't resonate with Carrie deep down (even though, on the surface, she might have THOUGHT she wanted a man like Aiden), because Carrie is way more scandalous than Aiden. So, in the end, Carrie ended up with Big, and Big WAS the best guy 4 her, 'cuz they were BOTH scandalous, adulterous, commitment phobes. Like attracts like, ALWAYS, so Aiden was much better off without Carrie. Carrie and Big deserve each other!

The thing about Aidan is that he is the epitome of what girls always think will make them happy. Aidan is sweet, kind, handsome, charming--the works. Unfortunately, sometimes our own visions of perfection do not always pan out. We need someone who just isn't what we've already decided we want, but someone who expands on that notion and reaches further. While Mr. Big isn't the fairy-tale Prince Charming in some ways, he takes Carrie further than Aidan did--she's free to be herself without bounds, without feeling bad about anything. (You will remember that Carrie always felt so guilty with Aidan because she felt like he was too good for someone like her, which is something that will always inhibit a relationship.)
So, yes, Aidan was perfect in theory, but in practice, I'd take Mr. Big. :)

Even though Big put Carrie through so much heart ache, I think he was the best guy for her. She was only truely happy with him. It's sad to say that, In life everyone is going to hurt you, you just have to figure out who is worth the pain. To Carrie, Big was definatley worth it.

Big. I never liked Aiden that much. Sure, Big tends to be a jerk, but I still like him best. She always went back to him for a reason.
