American Idol

American Idol. - American Idol debuted tonight and i am dissapointed how the judges were with the contestants. Simon continually said to the ones that made it to hollywood that "The people will like you". Is this a beauty pageant or a singing contest. Give me your opinions. Best of luck to you!

Tonight American Idol debuted on the east coast of america at 8 pm. Is it me or did it seem like the judges were much more ruder and cruder than they have ever been before. I think its a shame when a 16 year old is brought to tears because they think they have talent they apparently dont have. There is easier ways to tell someone that they arent going to make it. What did you think of the show if you saw it? Good luck to all of you!

They do it so we will continue to watch the show. I know I could never do it. I would want to pass everyone that broke down in tears in front of me..lol I just could not get over the people who truly thought they were fantastic, and could not carry a tune in a bucket. I don't get why their friends and family do not spare them from this heartache. I love to watch it though. I applaud the guts of these guys to get up and face the judges and have America hear them.

Hmmm, yes, I think the judges can be way way too rude sometimes. On the other hand, some of the contestants are really really bad. But for the younger ones, like 16 year olds, I think it's a bit rough to say they "won't make it" and stuff when they might well improve and be great in the future. Yeah, the judges should watch their mouths and keep a certain decorum, even though there are some contestants who seem to want to make a mockery of the whole thing.
