Well I prefer to return home before it is dark as I feel comfortable inside my house, what about you?

Surely I will feel afraid walking alone in the dark especially in a street or somewhere which is not familiar at all. I did experience driving alone during nighttime along the road which ran through a rubber estate few years back. It was really scary as there was not even a car on the road during that very moment. I couldn’t speed up my car on the zigzag road. Time seemed like century long. I felt relieved when seeing cars moving on the road again. Since then I preferred to drive back to my working place early in the morning.

The dark doesn't bother me at all. As a matter of fact where we live it is practically pitch dark here. We live out in the middle of nowhere and we only have one streetlight by our place. No neighbors at all. I love it here. I love the dark. My husbands mother was in a car wreck a few years ago and he needed to go to the hospital to be with her. Well I stayed home because I have lots of animals to take care of. The hospital was 2 hours away so he had to stay for a couple of weeks because he didn't have a way back and forth everyday. So I stayed here by myself. I loved it.Not the fact that she was in the hospital but that I was by myself. Every one said I was crazy for staying here by myself that long but it doesn't bother me. I love the peace and quite. My husband doesn't even like to go outside without a flashlight at night and even then he doesn't like it. I don't mind. I go outside late at night before I go to bed to check on all of my dogs and cats. I just don't scare easily. :)

When I am alone I prefer to come home before dark. But if I have some bait (i.e. my kids or significant other) then coming home at any time is not a big deal. *evil grin* Seriously, I live in a nice neighborhood, have an alarm system, and am two minutes from the police station. I know many hideous things can happen in that two minutes, but I feel safer coming home to an armed system as well. A big dog helps too, though not if he is a loveable, and loves on everything, brute.
