What is your favorite cornbread recipe and why?? Where did it come from? Was it passed down from family?

I have no recipe (although I wish I did!), I absolutely love cornbread. But it made me think of a funny and sad story to see a post about cornbread! lol There is this little BBQ place in my area and it is to die for, excellent food! Part of my favorite experience with BBQ restaurants is saving my cornbread for last when I claim the honey bottle and go to town. But this last time I went there, I noticed the cornbread looked "moldy". I freaked out and called over the waiter in panic and exclaimed, "there's mold in my cornbread!!!". The waiter just laughed at me and said that's not the first time he had heard that but that they started adding JALAPENO TO THE CORNBREAD. So, being that cornbread and honey is my favorite part of the BBQ experience (other than brisket, YUM), I don't go there anymore. I won't until I have heard through some sort of grapevine that they stopped adding jalapeno. Don't get me wrong, I love jalapenos, but NEVER, NEVER in my CORNBREAD! Ah!

Just wanted to add: The reason it makes the cornbread look moldy is because the green color of the jalapeno bleeds out around it into the bread. LOOKS JUST LIKE MOLD. :p
