My husband are constantly debating about whether or not our cats should be indoors or outdoors. Right now they are living inside and he wants them to go out. What are some benefits of having them inside that I can tell him? We have the same debate about dogs so we haven't got one yet. I want a small indoor dog and he says the dog has to stay out.

Well some benefits to keeping the cats inside are: 1. Less Fleas and no concern about tics 2. Less worry about them getting hurt 3. They can snuggle up against you, which they can't do outside 4. You have to worry about them if they get into a fight with anything when they are outside due to diseases. 5. If you feed them outside any other animal can steal the food. That's about all I can think off of hand but I'm sure there are others some will point out.

keeping a cat inside is the best, because they are not subject to get diseases from other animals like they are outside. outside they can get hit by a car, can get hurt by other animals, the can get fleas ect ect....my cats stay inside all the time. A dog should stay inside also except to go outside to potty and play.
