Ordering Wine

When we go out to eat I would like to order wine, but I always chicken out. I have no idea how to order it. How do I tell the waiter that I want an inexpensive wine? It seems embarrassing to say I want something cheap. Do I even need to say that at all or will they bring me something at a reasonable price?
