Focus on international not national issues.

It seems to me that the majority of the focus on American politics seems to be on the war and the worlds problems. Why can't we focus on internal problems?
I understand that the Iraqi situation is a major concern, but why isn't anyone in government focusing on the "normal" home problems. Homelessness, drugs, illegal immigrants, health care, etc. It seems as though these problems still exist and likely will for a long time, that noone in the Executive branch of our government has time to deal with these problems.
Maybe I'm just missing this, but in a time when politicians are making their decisions to move up in the next elections, maybe they should focus at least half as much on national problems.

A perceptive and honest person! You must remember, however, that the US government does not care about democracy. Domestic problems! What domestic problems? You probably know by now that the US is currently a police state. Seriously.
The US government, from historical facts, is simply a piracy government. Until there have been changes in the government's strategies and view of wealth accumulation, the US government will just keep lookig outside itself for means of acummulating wealth through plundering.
No, you are not missing a thing! You simply are a very realistic individual. War is the means through which the US and British governments accumulate wealth. And, they will do anything, regardless of the consequences, to achieve their goal.

While I agree with you to some extent, I am not sure I can neccasarily agree that the U.S. wealth is accumalted by plundering other countries. Most of our countries wealth come from plundering our own people, and not the wealthy. The Bush adminstration is hell bent on avenging Papa's mistakes and now have found themselves in a situation where our sons and daughters are stranded in the Middle East, with no direction, no motive, and very poor leadership.

True! The piracy/plunderig is not just at international level. It is piracy at City, State, National and International levels! As long as you have something the US government thinks it needs, it will do everything and anything to attempt to take it away from you. The US government is simply an outright piracy government!

These problems do exsist, most of them right under our back door so to speak, sure the war is a major concern, but there are other concerns that the politicians should be dealing with also, instead of passing the buck and picking it back up when it is to benefit them.

Is it me or does it seem that many politicians only go to certain domestic issues when they have made a detrimental statement on a big money issue? It is kind of like a big "I screwed up on a major point, so I'll just do what the little people want me to do on a minor issue, and all will be well".

For your kind information,America's war on Iraq is not for the international betterment. It is for personal interests. How this move went wrong for them is another story, but it was done in personal interest.

I agree that there was certain degree of personal interest, I am the first to say that. It was a neccessary thing to do but it was done in a wrong way. We likely should have went after Iran either before or during our invasion of Iraq. The entire region is unsable and also hazardous to our values.
