Few hours back I read in newspaper as well as saw on news channel that Indian Actress, Shilpa Shetty faces racial abuse in UK's reality TV serial Celebrity Big Brother. Another contestant Danielle Lloyd called her "dog". And a or some contestants didn't eat the food (chicken) prepared by her. Do you think this is right? Isn't it racism? And, its against the rules in such shows on TV? Why can't those contestants play healthy game? Playing racial attacks is really bad. What do you say?

Although I agree, not all of them are civilised and educated, Jade is probably the most stupid there, who doesnt know a lot, and considering not all of them are british, e.g. Jermaine.

It will only expose those contestants emptiness of planning on how to win. There are certain ethics even in War. These people must have forgotten it. The good thing is that many have complained about it and hopefully it's now Channel 4 who is expected to do something about it.
The channel has also said that Shilpa herself has not registered any complaint as yet, but she might be in a state of shock. I can't imagine that the society which produces the finest of human beings also produces few elements who do not glorify their society.

As an update from the UK, Shilpa herself has now apparently stated she feels it could be racially motivated, as have some of the other UK contestants, especially after Danielle told Shilpa 'to f*ck off, back home' which when reminded of this by the show, faked horror that she would have said sucjha thing. The 3 women and 1 man involved should be charged by the police, they do not represent in any way shape or form, the view of the majority of people within the UK, and I apologise that these people should be put on tv, to air such bigotted views. They bring shame on our country, and I hope they never work again.

IT IS racism. But it was expected. The winner of the show will get handsome prize money, so the contestants will do anything to drive others out of the house.Shilpa Shetty is the odd woman out and therefore a very easy target. I think the contestants who make racist remarks should be thrown out of the show and made to apolozise publicly.

I think there should be a ban on reality tv shows. Whatever little i have seen of them, like survivor i always felt that such shows promotes dirty games, seduction, temptation, foul language & gestures, cheating. And the contestants are all blinded by their desire to win will do anything.
I felt Shilpa shetty made the wrong move to do this reality show as she thought it will give her international fame and fast bucks, 3 crores to be precise. I think she should have continued to do Bollywood films as they are best and also have worldwide audience and pay well and yo have respect intact.
Having said that, i feel we all should condemn such racial abuse and strict actions should be taken against show, channel and obviously against the participants who did it.

I knoiw you are talking of the show Big Brother, where they put few loosers otr retires show biz people together to make a reality show. Its worst kind of peeping Tom show. I was surprised to learn that SHilp opted to go for it. Once you go in to a show like that you have to bear the murky conditions too. They porposely promote controversial behaviors to gain popularity. Lure for Shilp to go for such show must be to gain publicity internationally. I saw Bigf boss too Indian version oif Big Brother nd you can see that show directors keep trying to create rift between participants and provoke them to say unpleasent things about each other. That why such shows are popular. people watch them for that very reason. Shilpa ought to have known better than to fall for this kind of game.

I dont think calling someone "dog" has anything to do with racicm. Normally, the derogative words used refers to the race, but calling someone dog is just rude, not necessarily racism.

I was shocked when I read this news in the morning. Its really disgusting. They are treating her so badly according to the news. Over 200 complaints have been received o this racial abuse and Channel 4 is investigating about these complaints & would decide if any case should be made.

Everybody wants to win a game that offers a huge pot money so, contestants will do anything against anyone who is part of it. Thats how the system works.

As I know Shilpa Shetty, by nature she is very strong. She would have given strong answer to the person who had insulted her. As it is top secrete nothing can be said today. But when she will come out from the big brother's house she would tell the world what was happened actually. She cannot sit keeping mom. Racism is the one policy of european countries, when they think that they are going to weak they deliver such comments in open. Actually what they are, they say. Such participants must be kicked out.

Erm, excuse me, who is being a bit racist now? We do NOT all think like that, though there are people like that in all parts of the world; I don't take offence at much but your comments disgust me. Not because of where you are from but through the ignorance and sterotypes you yourself are showing through your comments.

And another thing, if you really knew anything about the UK you would know that we bend over backwards to be inclusive of all nationalities, often I feel at the expense of British born people, the amount of emphasis and money and spent on equal opportunities and political correctness is obscene!
LMAO at your comments Matt!

I agree with you BUT why I wonder is this program still allowed to be made? The novelty factor has worn off I think. I live in Australia and here I dont think BB goes free to air anymore. Wonder if that means the ratings got so bad? It is a real shame that celebrities cannot find something more entertaining to do with their lives/talents.
