You can see yourself my points, that is mentioned in brackets next to my ID. 100 Points will enable us to get the rating(the number with star). 500 Points will enable us to post pictures with responses, and also we can cut and paste the topics/discussions/responses.

Hardly few will be benefitted by using the cut and paste option. It will not support this as it will not support creativity.

The ratings points show quantity of participation while the stars shows quality.
You can not cut and paste till you have a rating of 500 or more.
If your rating is high you have probably been paid more then others with a lower rating.

The rating I am talking about is the number by your screen name not the star. If your rating is very high it means you have made a lot of posts which will turn into being paid more.
However if you make a LOT of worthless posts your rating increase will be temporary because myLot will eventually delete many of your worthless posts and your rating will then fall.
The star numbers represents quality of your posts and comes from the plus and minus people can make on your posts.

I right at this moment have 423 points. the points show the amount of interaction (discussions/responses/comments) you have had on this site. The object as of now is to reach 500 so that you can paste your answers. Not answers from other places but your own origional work. I have a couple of discussions that I have spent an hour on typing since I would type it out and hit the submit button and it would disapear just for mee to have to type it all over again. now if I could have pasted I could have had a hard copy on my system (microsoft work, works, notepad, etc...) and just pasted it back in rather than retyping the whole damn thing.
Thank you for the good post and have a great day!! Hopefully I have answered this question for you!!

That was a nice answer. I also lost a big answer that I wanted to post here because after losing a lot of time I pushed "submit" and the page become blank because the connection with the server of MyLot was just went out and they even didn't use some cookie or java script to save our work until we post it inside of the page. Just the silly answer: "you cannot use copy/paste" and so on.

That is the frusteration of 500 and under rating. I do not like the idea of loosing all of my hard work because of a server problem. Hopefully we will both reach 500+ soon so that we do not have to worry about this again!! Thank you for the response and have a great day!

See the points are shown in the bracket...so any body can have a fair idea of the points one has accumulated.
When you reach 100 points you will be awarded a star and depending upon your quality and quantity of response the number inside the star will vary and so as the color.

Just if you post just an answer in each separate discussion. If you post to each answer here your rating will be the same but your earning will increase.
About the stars : there are lot of members that disagree with your answers and nobody can stop them to give you a (-) so that this is not a real mark for your posts.

I think the only thing you can do is copy- paste. But does that really matter. Quality stuff cannot come from copy-paste - thats no creativity its stealing other's creativity and trying to put across your point in a different words. Even the star rating, I am not sure whether I am qualified to comment on it. But I have yet not come across anyone with a star ration lower than 5 - probably its the starting point. And I have also come across very good replies with lower start rating members as compared to those who have a rating of 8 and above. This site does not give how it calculates its points for each activity. I think this site needs to be more transparent.

i just met a mr.niceguy who has the rating of 1.
but it's not his fault. it seems to be that someone is marking him '-' with a vengeance.
but that's the lowest i've seen though.
it's bad because he's quite sensible.

what do you mean ? I wanted to klnow about having 100 ( I already have more than 100 so that I see now the star with the reputation) but not sure what is good when someone has more than 500 in his rating number.
I would be more happy to be able to delete some of my older posts that I don't like them there anymore.

The rating points show the quantity of your participation and the stars show the quality.
I currently am coming up on 500 points, when I reach my 500 mark I will have the previlege to cut and paste into the discussions and add more pictures.

I currently have 374 points in my rating, iv'e been a member fo 8 days now. When i begun contributing to this community the new star rating was introduced. I was eager to reach 100 points to see what star rating i received. I was pretty much happy that after reaching 100 points i received a star rating of 8, it showed that i did well and my earnings became higher since i got that star rating. Now my new target is to reach the 500 mark to enjoy the previlege of the copy / paste feature.

i think the rating will show the quality of our answers and how we have contributed to the group.
hoping to reach more :)

i think this entire concept is great.
one that gives you an overall status to and another that gives you the quality of your stay here.
by the way, the answer to this query is there in the alerts that show up. you did not actually have to start a thread on it. you could have browsed through the alerts and found the answer yourself you know.....
but anyways you have the answer now, next time though, try to look for it first. this site is quite systematic.

As I told even previously, I was not interested to know the use of having 500 points, but if really the new choices that a user has available to use when posting here are in the benefit of him and of the community.
I think that being able to copy/post is not so useful for the community as we would like to believe.

i beg to differ.
i just had to write the same post three times because the post failed to appear.
and it didn't even after 3 attempts of typing it over again.
it may be a glitch in the system, but it's a glitch that hurts.
you see how much you like copy/paste in that situation.
hey, im not saying it's great, but if there is a glitch, and the kind i mentioned, then copy/paste is something i want to work to.
also you get to post images. that's all i seem to be able to recall though.
