Although soccer has recently picked up in the United States is has been well established throughout the rest of the world. Why do you think this is the planet's number 1 sport?

maybe because in poorer countries ,soccer didn't require any special equipment to play,such as a ball,a bat,etc.you can kick most anything I imagine.

football was adopted by all countries, everyone plays football.
There are a lot of international sports but not in that number. America has the baseball the national sport but no other country plays baseball so its only in Americaa well knowne. Football has the most suports every club has 2-3 teams so there are a lot of football chiamponships, baseball has only a season a year.
