I think you shouldn`t try to connect more than 4 computers. You can try, but you`ll not be able to connect more than 4.

I think it's possible in some cases. Say i have a hub having four computers. So. no doubt we can't connect more that 4 computers on that lan. But if you purchase an another hub of 4 ports then connect the 4 port of the first hub with the Second Hub & share another 4 ports through that Second Hub. So in total You will be able to connect 7 computers from two 04 port hubs. It is helpful when if want to replace your old hub due to in-sufficient ports, so you can add anther hub with the first one according to your needs.

Routers - Here is the wireless router that I just purchased yesterday and installed today. It works great.
It depends on how many slots the router has in it. If it only has four ports then you can only attach four computers to it. Some routers have more than four slots which obviously is better if you have more than four computers. I just got a wireless router and it can only handle four if you use cables but probably can do more if you have a wireless device attached to the other computers.

using a router you can connect only one computer but if you connect the router to a hub you can add as many computer you want all you will need to do is add more hub in your network.

with your equipment you can conect only 4 pc. if you need to conect more pc, you need a switch. conect the switch in one router port,a nd to the switch you can conect others pc (depends from numbers of ports)

If all your users will be by cable connection, you can only plug in 4 at a time. But if you have more than 4 users that must connect to the router, i suggest you get a switch (it's cheap by the way) to enable more users to connect thru cable. If you have wireless users, use one of the four ports for an access point. =)

Unless you have wireless enabled computers and are on a wireless network, the most you can connect to a four port router are four computers. kiwimac

Well since it has only four ports then you can only connect 4 computers to it. Unless that is, the router has a wireless capability. Then the number of pc that can be connected can be endless. Well not endless, more or less 10 PCs would be a good number, excluding the 4 wired PCs.

I dont think that u can connect more computers on a 4ports router. But u can bridge connections if u have one more router. And i dont know this i dea will work or not as dont know more about networking and hardware. Use a hub and coonect it to one port of the router and connect more pc's on the hub

Is it also wireless? If it is then yes you can connect more than 4 but those extra computers would need to be wireless enabled.
