A lot of people have problems in losing weight and there are also a lot of people having problems in gaining weight. I, for instance was only 98 lbs last year. I tried this Chinese drug Ling Zhi which I heard ws effective in gaining weight. Feb of last year I took the medicine twice a day. then after 6 months... I weighed 123 lbs.. The effect was really effective. However, the side effects are really frustrating. Now, I stopped taking the tablets and I dropped to 119 lbs. How about you guys? What weight gain solutions have you tried? and is it effective?

Eat a lot... healthy food not junk one.. and then do nothing .. ;-) Sit and Sleep... Just give a walk daily either morning or evening to keep ur immune system cool. :)

Well , I wasn't trying to gain weight , but when I started using Amitryptiline (recreational use ) at the rate of 1 or 2 tablets every 2 or 3 days my weight jumped from 80 kilos to 110 kilos in maybe 2 years .Weight gain is a known side effect of Amitryptiline , it apparenty increases the appetite and/or decreases BMR (basal metabolic rate)
I had to follow a vegetarian diet to make it go back to 84 which is my current weight .

I have never liked gaining weights. In fact, I'm on the opposite.
As for the topic, the one thing that surely made me gained weight this holiday season was eating all my favorite foods. I sometimes blame my mother-in-law for being a good cook. hehe

I am trying to lose 50 pounds as well. I lost two and a half last week. I refuse to diet though. Instead, I am changing eating habits. I am only changing habits that I know I can keep up with for the rest of my life and it wont' just be a fad I go through. The first step I took was to start eating breakfast every morning. This helps with metabolism. The next thing was to slowly increase my water intake until I was up to 64 ounces per day. By doing this you will also lose water weight, your body will feel better as well. Then I decided my goal was to get 5 fruits and/or vegetables every day. I have stopped buying junk food, but if I want a treat now and then I allow it. I have been trying to pay close attention to portions and make sure that I am not over eating. I get plenty of food, I don't feel hungry, but I don't let myself eat until I feel extremely full. If I didn't get enough to eat I snack on fruit in between meals.
