I used to own a few dogs and a few cats when I was young. Now when I am living in the city, there is not much room for numberous pets.
Since my favourite is both the dog and cat, it is quite a brainstormer for me to think which animal to rear.
What is your opinion? Share your experiences with either animal to support your suggestion. You can also share why you feel each or the other pet is a more appropriate choce.

I love both dogs and cats, but when it is about raising them I think a lot about the condition I can give them.
An apartament is not a good place for an animal.
If you really want an animal I recomand you a cat, because it doesn't need as much space as a dog.

I now live in an apartment too. Unfortunately, the rules say no pets allowed. Quite frustrating for those of us who are so used to having pets. What I have to do now is to stroke a doggie or kitty whenever one comes near me. That is at least the best I could get to do.

it all depends on what kind of person you're and humch time you spend at home . Dogs need a lot of love and attention .A cat can leave for a weak and it'll be fine, as long as you leave enough food and water out.

Your view is true. It really depend on us as to what kind of person we are. Looking at myself, I love dogs. I think they like me just as I like them. I feel dogs are more macho compared to cats. I do not belittle cat, anyway. There is something about a dog the way it gazes at you with it's forlorn looking eyes. My wife never do that at all.

We like both a cat and a dog...We have a mini schnauzer and a long haired cat in our 2 bedroom apt. and it works out really good. The dog likes to take long walks in the area everyday. And the cat loves to stay inside as I open the windows for her so she can see outside. She has no interest on going out. The 2 of them get along great...As far as which is better that is a tough one as like I said we love both...But if you are in a apt. you can hide a cat easier then a dog, as a cat uses a litter box and is quiet...

dog is a better pet..he is more sensitive than cats..cats are cute pets..but its the dog which saves you from thieves and he is the one who prevents us from intruders...so its better to have dog as the pet..

I think it all depends on your lifestyle which animal would be best suited for you. A dog needs a lot of attention- so if you work a lot or are out of your place frequently, I wouldn't suggest getting a dog. A cat is more of a feed it and go- they don't really require attention like a dog does. I have 2 dogs right now and sometimes I wish I didn't have them so it would be easier for me to go on overnighters, or easier to find an apartment to rent- but then I think of all of the positive things- when I am down, they almost never seize to make my smile and laugh and they will love me no matter what. Cats don't usually have as much personality as dogs, but they can be ok companions if they are the type that like to be around people and be petted and stuff.
