We have pedicabs. Its really a headache but considering poverty here, one could have pity and understand why they drive pedicab for a living.

are we talking about the same pedicab in the philippines where in the bicycle is on the left side? anyway, you really can't blame them if they cause somebody's headache. it is the only thing they do to earn for a living. it's better than robbing.

I'm from the Philippines, too. Guess I am with your side. I agree that driving pedicabs is way off better than stealing something.

do u ever think the side effect if the goverment erase this kind of transportation ?
I think the goverment must set a rule on how to make this kind of transportion not messing all around....
set the traffic rule perhaps, or set time when pedicab can run on the street or sumthing like that....

Do you know that pedicab -or becak is actually forbidden by the government. Yeah, that's right,I asked the head of traffic and transportation department in police's office, he said that on the long run, they shouldn't even exist no more here in our city.
It'd be a dilemma..

i was living in karang menjangan Surabaya:) so i really know the condition of "abang becak" /pedicab driver and the street. when i was riding my motorcycle, a pedicab coming from no where and crush my motorbike. most of pedicab driver are selfish and wouldn't admit that they walks on the wrong side of the road. I think this people should take their becak to little city like madiun, or sidoarjo. they suits there. Poor them coming to the city with no education at all... life...
