I am 21 years old and i got to dial 911 for the first time today. I have, thankfully never had to dial it until now.
I was up all night, i just couldn't sleep..and then at about 7:30ish i laid down to get some shut eye.. I laid my head down on the pillow and it felt so good, i could feel my eyes starting to get heavy.. no more that 2 min after i shut my eyes i heard a loud crash and glass shatter. Some kid going to school ran his car into a Pole...i live by a viadoc and after the viadoc is this really sharp turn and people are constantly flying under this thing..im surprised i havent had to call 911 for a wreck before. As soon as i went outside and saw that a car wreck has happend i immediatly dialed 911 and rattle off the info to the dispatcher..and help arrived in minutes. This luckily wasnt a bad wreck and the boy driving is ok.
Im made this discussion because i should be sleeping right now and im awake due to this wreck..its hard to sleep with EMT and cops right outside with cherries and berries flashing.
So, when was the first time you ever had to dial 911? Why?

The only time we called 911 was when we were on our way home one afternoon. There was a car on the side of the road that was broken down. My husband pulled over to see if he could assist. The driver was intoxicated to the point he was staggering. We called 911 and the police picked the driver up and brought him to the station to dry out.

I guess 911 is US based only. If one dials it here, patient would die. hehehe... I had experience lot of emergencies but all patients was saved.
