I'm new to this hobby and wanted to start playing it but I was wondering what marker should I get for as a start? I thought of the Mokal Fokus because it's kinda cheap and quite good for a stock weapon. Any other opinions would be appreciated. The gun is about 140$ if I remember correctly.

Hey man, I played paintball a lot of times and have a little bit experience with the markers.
Before you choose your marker, be sure it has a scope! There is nothing more terrible than a marker without a scope. It is like throwing the ammo after someone :P

a scope on a paintball marker is not a good idea unless you are going to buy a freak barel or a dye boom stick. Low end paintball markers are not acurate at all. i wouldn't even put a scope on my DM5 and they are acurate.

I agree with sniperecks, I think it also depends on the game mode that you would be playing. If you're into scenario, putting a scope on would not have any advantage if your marker can only reach short ranges. A scope would have little or no advantage at all depending on your marker or what other upgrades you put on it.One plus though, It will definitely look more cooler with a scope on. hehehe :p

Jeez, I never knew you for playing such "violent games". I can't say, I'm not really updated in this domain.:D

Well, if you want to play paintball there is a place in faget. Maybe we could organise a school team or something, last year there was a tournament to see which school is the best :D And the game is not that violent, it's more about teamwork, good aiming and a little bit luck :P

I work at a paintball field and I can say that the ion is probably were you want to go. They are relatively cheap, and I've seen them modified to play either scenario or speedball. It is also a brand name, so you should have good customer service. One more thing, please do not call it a weapon. Paintballer's frown upon phrases that incude: weapon, bullets, and rifles.
