Why it is useful to have an account on imdb.com?

I don't thinik that you need to create an account on imdb. com because you have acces to all of the movie info without creating one. I use this website a lot too but I wouldn't feel better if I was a member because there are no additional features available so, why bother?

Yeah, it's basically to access the message boards, however, they're usually troll infested, lol.

I use it often too but I never think to create an account. That is probably because you have access to all the options and you don't need to create an account. If you create an account you can rate movies, if you want to.

One thing I do is I vote for movies I watch, and occasionally write reviews. Sometimes it's fun to go back and see what you voted for a given film.

yep no acount no message boards but if you get a premium acount you can get access to more advanced and detailed searches (at least thats what they say)

If you love movies, you should have one, you can rate the movies you watched. After some time, you will find what is your taste about the movie chaging from time to time. This is also a guideline to others. For example, I seldom watch the movie voted under 5/10. But Maybe they are just waht you like. So you need an account to distribute you rate.

I think the only thing you need an account for is the discussion forums. Sometimes I like to go and talk about the movies I've seen, but if you don't want to do that, then you don't need an account.

One of the reasons that I've a account on imdb is because I love to answer polls xD I don't usually reply to board discussions but I like to read them.
