There is a prevading sentiment among the "elite" of our country that they are above the law. There is a continuos outpouring of legislation, reforms, and official press releases streaming from all forms of governments within the US. The blatant message of these is to "DO AS WE SAY not as we do".
How is it that people are so willing to be lead around? Why are people so willing to give over so many personal liberties, (ie freedom of choice) to the government? Is it just pure laziness? Is it a human need to be controlled?
What happened to human nature of individuality?
I find that this is REALLY based in religions. Maybe that is one of the major instigators of this backwards sentiment. The need for control.

I think that people allow themselves to be lead because not so much of laziness but ignorance in the sense that people don't understand things, or just not wanting to have that kind of responsibility to makes certain choices.

Exactly, the ignorance is a major factor. I am amazed at people who are willfully ignorant. They actually refuse to learn about certain things, instead remaining ignorant of the truth and the actuality of their environment.

I think the majority of people make the sad mistake of saying there is nothing that we can do about it or how can just one person make a difference. What they fail to realize is that if all of those ones would join together we very possibly could make a difference.

I don't think anyone is willing to give over personal liberties to the government. It is scary what is coming.
