Government Grants

I am currently in the market for purchasing my first home. I have heard a lot about government grants however have had really no success in finding accurate information. It seems that I have to buy this and buy that in order to find out how to get a grant. If anyone has any information on how to receive a government grant or where to start without buying things, I would appreciate it.

I searched on these by myself for quite awhile and sadly you'll be hard pressed to find anything of "value" on the web. Your best bet in my opinion would be to check out your state's homepage and search for business grants etc. Federal grants could also be an option but my guess is you'll find better information through your state.
