Have you ever tried the Atkins diet?

I did once, and took supplements with it, but I think it is a little risky for our wellbeing. Did it work for you?

i used it last year and lost loads of weight, the only thing is it takes a lot of thinking about as you can only eat protein foods so is a bit more expensive as well.

I never tried it but my Friend did and it did wonders for her, she lost a lot of weight with it. But then after a while it stopped working for her so I don't know if she had reached the Ideal weight or what. She was very happy with it.

Ok during Level 1 you can not eat any carbs but, that should only be for two to three days. But then you add about 5 carbs to your diet each week after. Until you are intaking about 20-30 grams of carbs per day. During this time you should be using Ketone Sticks to determine whether or not you are still excretting Ketones. The tip of the ketone stick will turn purple to let you know. (Also take a VERY good multi-vitamin. Mega doses of vitamins are highly recommended!) If you are still excretting Ketones then you are still losing. When you stop excretting Ketones thats when you have reached your critical carbohydrate level. So once you know what your critical carbohydrate level is. Don't go over it and you will continue to lose and you won't be completely carb free so yes Atkins can be okay health wise if you follow it correctly. So far I have lost 10lbs and am only on level 3. But from my experience and from everything I have read it can be done safely. Good luck to you!
