I'm looking into buying an easl. The thing is, they happen to be rather expensive & I haven't ever used one before. Has anyone used an easel? If so, is it worth the cost?

I have used an easel in the past and have found it a lot better than not having one. You can adjust it to your height and it is easier on your arms weather you are using it for drawing or painting. It comes in handy because some easel have additional compartments to hold your brushes and what not. Good luck to you!

I have had several easels and believe me a good easel is very useful if you're doing canvas painting. The I have now I love it alot.

I am an artist for ages. I watercolor, oil paint, acrylic paint and scissor cut. I have always used the desk or counter top. I had one once, and did not care for the angle to paint. You can make your own if it is too costly. It's easy to make an A frame and then mount a straight board across. www.mgcreativearts.com is my art page.
