Last year I decided not to clip my conure. I'm not sure I'll make the same decision this year, though. I really enjoyed watching him zoom around but I found that I uncage him as much because I worried about him flying around and getting hurt. Do you clip your birds? Why or why not?

Yes, my Conure is flighted. In fact, both my birds are. I did keep them clipped for a little while. However, one day my husband and I decided to let them be flighted after their flight feathers grew in. We did clip our cockatiel's a couple of times since, but he didn't seem to be too thrilled with loosing his ability to fly. As we didn't want the same thing to happen to our Conure, we decided not to clip her anymore. Although I love the fact that they can fly, I miss being able to take them outside... Happy mylotting!

we didnt clip ours but ours didnt know tehy could fly except for the parakeets. the conures all thought they were kids and just walked around and yelled up. if they were on the floor and wanted to get up on something they couldnt climb they would yell until someone picked them up or they would climb it. if they can fly it is usally best to keep there wings clipped once they figure this out lol. conures like to go outside and they have a habbit of getting into things to where you cant get them and they tease you about it. they will usally come back but they have to tease first and it is always scarey when they do this.
