I've really been at odds with this as of late. i work a job thats pretty much just a job. Been unhappy with the friends i have, not all of them but most of them. No significant other in my life. I wonder what is more important, being happy with your life outside of work or being happy with work. What makes you happier or more complete?

I think both are equally important since they are a part of life. If you unhappy with anything it affects your total happiness unless you don't let it bother you. It takes a lot to have a positive attitude and face everything that comes our way in life. The best attitude is to embrace life in its totality, happiness, sadness et al:)

I think we make our own happiness. Perhaps you are not so much unhappy as bored and discontent. You need to add a little spice into your life. Take up a new hobby, or plan a vacation. Just see if you don'tfeel happier just bu changing a little. Saying that Last April I went ona well deserved vacation and when I got back to my job, I realized that I really hated it. i was not appreciated and was taken for granted. When I asked for a raise and pointed out everything I did above and beyond my job discription, I was told to suck it up that I didn't deserve any more than I was getting and i was making$1.50 less than people who did absolutely nothing. So I told my manager F you and walked off. Happily, the place pretty well fell apart without me there to hold it together.

when things are not good at either place I am not happy- I am married and very happy, I have lots of friends but have a job I hate, and I have been looking for a new job but there is so little out there. So my life is not in a good place right now. You spend just as much time at work as you do at home so I think it's better to have a job you don't mind going to everyday.
