well, I think those are the ideal age as long as the couples are ready to have a long term commitment to each other

I don't think that there is a "best age" for marriage. I think that the right age for any particular marital union is completely decided upon by the individuals that are to be married. For example, some 18 year olds may be more prepared for marriage than some 50 year olds, dependent upon personality, living situation, maturity levels, emotional levels, and intellectual levels. It also depends on the relationship the two individuals had before marriage or engagement. If they were not totally committed, or were lacking in skills or trust, for example, they might not be ready, as compared to two individuals with the same personality and aforementioned characteristics, who had not given as much to their relationship. I got married at age 23 (this past year), and I know I was ready. But I have friends older than me, and in serious relationships, that are not ready.
It all depends on the individuals. No one can say a "best age" for that reason.
As far as believing in marriage, it seems funny to not believe in it. It's a concrete situation, as much as it can be concrete, in that it happens all the time. There's really nothing to believe, without being ignorant of the real world. I don't mean to criticize, I just think it was not the best word to use in the discussion.

i do believe in marriage. and there's no particular best age for marriage. for as long as two people are inlove and are already emotionally, physically and financially capable of raising their own family, then, it's okey to get married.

i say it hould be 16 dor girls an 18 for boys, becasue at those ages both of the couple members have the minimal maturity for getting married

I don't think the right time for marriage falls within an age group. It is different for everyone. For example I married at 18 and have been happily married for 18 years but I have found that this is rare. I have two other friends that are the same age as me and married around the same time. Both of them are now divorced. So I guess it depends more on the person than the age. Some are ready young and some still have a lot of growing up to do before they can make a life time commitment. And yes, obviously I believe full heartedly in marriage.
