Well, my other half is now snoring away upstairs, don't know who's worse him or the cat!! ... yep I've got a cat that snores as well! Bless him, he's curled up here snoring away beside me, He's quite funny as every now and then he makes a big snore sound and wakes himself up! . I was just thinking ... over the years sleep therapists have monitored people with all kinds of sleep disorders, looking at their sleep habits to find out what each disorder does to a person.... I wonder if they've ever monitored cats? Anyway, what about the rest of us who don't think we have a sleep disorder, we just don't seem to need much sleep. And those that, because of dreams and unconscious behaviour, send out strange signals to their partners? Have you ever slept with one of those people whose arms fling about and slap you in the face in the middle of the night or the ones that wake you up with cold feet! Or even one who's knees get you in the middle of the back or even in the groin when you least expect it? . When your partner is awake, he/she is the most loving person and you know, they care for you 100%, but when they're asleep, its questionable! Do they recoil and move away from your slightest touch? Do they turn their backs on you when you try to get close? My other half tells me he turns his back cos he wants me to cuddle up to him … but I do sometimes wonder … And then what about the cover snatchers? You're lying there, all warm and toasty and then all of a sudden you find yourself shivering from the cold as you realise your partner has just turned over and taken all the covers with him/her! Then you have those people who sleep on top of the covers and you cant get into bed because if you pull on the cover, you'll wake them up! So what do you do? Where do you draw the line? How do you resolve those sleep disasters? Do you fight back? Do you become the cover snatcher? Do you tug on the cover and wake your partner up anyway? Or do you buy another cover and have one each? Or then, do you just suffer in silence?

I am extremely lucky because I am single and I have the whole bed to myself, ok so it's just a single and believe me I have shared a single bed in the past and no it's not comfortable, cosy maybe but I need space! I dread sleeping with someone new in case they have bad habits like snoring, bodily noises or if they talk in their sleep. My last partner I actually went out and bought myself a double bed and moved into the spare room, drastic eh! I don't even have animals sleeping on my bed. Mind you I do have a bad habit myself and that's tossing and turning in bed. I can't get comfortable so I'm always moving, duffing up my pillows or turning round! I love sleeping alone and I'm far too selfish to share my bed with anyone!

Hi Ukchriss, your problem is very common one. This can be eliminated completely if you wish so. In India one Swami Rajdevji is doing research on various ailments. Snoring is one. By doing Pranayama snoring will stop completely. Details of how to do pranayama is available at www.divyayoga.com. You can go through the details there and get it started doing by your hubby, within 2-3 days of time you will receive snoring frequency is going down. Belive me, Pranayama is a systematic breathing exercise. It requires no money. The Anulom Vilom Pranayama will be much helpful for you. Please read and do it at your home in morning hour and enjoy the result.

LOL! I'm married to one of those too. But...ummm...we resolved it by me keeping the bed and him sleeping out on the couch in the living room (how selfish am I? LOL). I told him repeatedly that evil sounds and evil smells do NOT make for a good night's sleep. But the final straw was during one night when he was snoring more vigorously than usual. I kicked him pretty hard, but all I ended up doing was hurting my darned foot...and making him snore even louder!! Now I can sprawl across the bed as much as I want (or as much as the cats will let me). As for animals snoring, I have a Shar Pei that rivals my husband. Sometimes she wakes herself up snoring (just like your cat) and ends up barking at herself!

Im in the same situation as you, snoring mate and Shar-Pei. It's terrible....About sharpei, can you tell me if your sharpei is always shaking his head and spreading saliva (ughh!), i cant stand it, dont know if there's something wrong with her (its a female), something in the ears or nose that make her do that. Tell me something please, to know if i should send her to the vet.

I don't currently sleep with anyone else in my bed, but I often wonder if I would be hard to sleep next to *laugh* I get uncomfortable easily and have to turn to one side or the other fairly often. If I don't, I get pains in my legs and ankles sometimes. The saddest thing about it is that I would give just about anything to have someone to cuddle up to at night, but I am afraid that I would be a bother to them even if I did! *laugh* I also have no idea how restless I am when I'm deep in sleep, since it's pretty difficult to know that. But I must turn over in my sleep, because if I didn't I would end up with more aches and pains...

The cover snatchers are the worst!! And must admit as I get older I much prefer to sleep alone - at least you get a good night's sleep that way!

Well I hardly face this situation because I have a habit of sleeping for just night and not in the noon, however sometimes it happens, but I tackle it by just waiting for calmness to prevail and it eventually makes me sleep
