More recognized when dead?

Alot of persons are saying Bob Marley got most of his recognition when he died is this really true or was he recognize all over when he was alive?

You have got to remember that most people don't really care anything about Bob Marley or Jamaica. Diverse and open minded people recognized Marley when he was alive. You must remember though, that a lot of people did not want Marley's music or teachings to be spread, due to conflicting religion or beliefs. Marley sang about revolutions, burning and looting. Things that nowadays our white christian culture despises. Rastas believe vastly different things from the white christians and they did not want this to spread. Marley toured all over the world, and created many followers and believers on his journey. So grow your hair out and twist it natty my friend...

Mr. Marley was well known when he was alive. He touched the lives of many and brought the hope of freedom to all affected by his message. It seems like he is being recognized more now because many modern day artists are following in his footsteps.
