I want to travel, i need help

I want to go backpacking, i don't even care where it is. I have a problem though, I don't have anyone to go with me! Should I go by myself, I get lonely easily, or should I go on a website and find another lone backpacker? What do you think I should do? Also where is a good first timer country or area?
